Frontman for Talking Heads
David Byrne was born on 14 May 1952 in Dumbarton, Scotland. When he was two years old, his entire family went to Canada to work in the Westinghouse. Five years later they went to Baltimore, in the U.S.A., and since then every two or three years they would go a different quarter.Since High School, David Byrne took part in many activities, and played in bands since young. The first group he was in was called Revelation, and they followed the mod fashion, with dark clothes and a tie. In this band, David Byrne played guitar (he didn't sing) and they made covers of Rolling Stones and The Kinks.
Later he went to the MIT (Massachussets Institute of Technology), one of the most important universities of the U.S.A. On the other side, hereceived a letter from the RISD (Rhode Island School of Design), an art school in Providence, so he chose to study Art instead of Science. In the RISD, he would meet Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth, and together they created Talking Heads.
After the disappearance of Talking Heads, David Byrne has recorded many solo works and has been in many other projects with other artists. He has directed films, composed sound tracks and worked in photography.
