Talking Heads - More Songs About Buildings And Food In 1978, one year after Talking Heads released his debut album (77),appears More Songs About Buildings And Food.

More Songs About Buildings And Food In the creation of this record Brian Eno played a decisive role. It is said that Eno knew the band during the 1977 tour. Chris Frantz saw Eno in the crowd, and invited him to the dressing room. There he met John Cale, who was also invited, and John said "I want them for me, queer!".

Eno had much influence on the sound of Talking Heads. The band evolved to more complex themes in its second album, risking more and being much more interesting.

At the same time, I think this second album is the one that states more clearly the personality of the group. In it we see many of their concepts being born: words like motion, house, television, situation and others conform the basic vocabulary of the band; many of them were used for the first time in this album.

Lyrics are as innovative as in the first album, and so we find songs where the protagonist states openly that he's not in love, and believes that some day nobody will need to be in love. At the same time, however, we find a wonderful song of the classic "Take me to the river" of Al Green, one of the most convincing love songs of all times... in this way, the band shows its ability to see from all points of view.

The original title was going to be "Oh, what a big country!". The cover is a collage made with 528 Polaroyd photographs, and the back (inside cover on the CD) is the "Portrait USA" , the first photomosaic of the USA, made with satellite photos.

The lyrics of the songs may seem strange, and I guess this is what they wanted. Amongst the few things that are clear to me after listening to this album is the end of the last song, "The Big Country":

Goo Goo Ga Ga Ga...
Goo Goo Ga Ga Ga...
